Sundowners Slide Show

Dear Derek,

My name is Greg Williams and I was a passenger on Sundowners AL99 from Kathmandu to London in 1975. Then in 1976 I joined the company as a courier and did 4 more overlands over the next 2 years. I sometimes think I might still be doing tours if I had not met my wife on the beach in Selifke, Turkey. She was on a Penn tour. We met again in Kathmandu and the rest is history. She was Canadian, I was Australian, I emigrated to Canada, returned to my old profession of teacher, raised 3 kids and my wife and I are now back in Europe as I have been teaching at Frankfurt International School for the past 3 years. It’s great to be traveling again.

You have a fantastic website – lots of memories – hope the attached photos are useful.

Hi Derek, I'm new to this Forum - not completely sure how it works - I did a Sundowners Overland from London to Katmandu in 1976 and noticed the post on 25/10 from Greg Williams who was our courier on that trip.   His photos are brilliant and I would love to see some more and perhaps swap some with him but he doesn't seem to be a member.  Is there any way you could pass this message onto him?  I was travelling with my then boyfriend now husband Richard Cant and I was Vicki Mawson - I am a Aussie and he was/is? a Pommie.  The few passengers I can remember are Carolyn (a Canadian Dr), Poppy (an Aussie girl) and Dick (an Aussie who for many years lived 1 suburb away from us).  Kit was our Driver.  Anyway, thought I'd try to see if you can help - love this site!!!  so many memories!!!!  Cheers  Vicki Cant

Hi Derek, me again - please just ignore previous post - I have just checked my emails and have received one from Kit who has kept in contact with Greg and has sent my email onto him so possibly he will get in touch and we can swap some photos!!!  Thanks anyway.....Cheers Vicki Cant
